Sam Garzillo, originally from the Philadelphia area, moved to Madison in 2024 after living in DC for over a decade. After graduating from American University with a degree in Law & Sociology in 2017, she went on to work for The Aspen Institute. Prior to coming to URS, she worked for The Posse Foundation in their DC office, mentoring Posse Scholars at Lafayette College, the University of Rochester, and Lewis & Clark College (Posse Love!). She came to URS for the intellectual play, exposure to new disciplines and ways of thinking, and the ability to continue supporting students through their undergraduate journey. While ever-changing, her current interests are reading books that feel fundamentally human, reconnecting with elementary school curiosities, watching her former students grow up, and moving to the Midwest to escape the East Coast and then proceeding to wax poetic about the East Coast.
